Hi, I’m Nathan, a videographer based in Auckland, New Zealand.
I’ve been working as a freelance videographer since 2011, when I graduated from AUT University with a degree in Communication Studies majoring in video production. Since then, I have grown my videography business to having worked with over 80 clients from New Zealand and internationally.
I work with a variety of different clients and job titles. Often event planners, looking to document their event by creating an exciting recap film. Professionals who use video to get seen by their network on Linkedin. Marketing & communication departments who need to get a message across. Small business owners who require a promotional video about their business. Private individuals who need birthday or event highlights.
In my time as a videographer, there has been big change both technologically with amazing equipment that we are able to use today and the way video is distributed. The rise of short vertical reels for social media and long form interview videos. Video is now ubiquitous across platforms and not limited to video hosting websites.
Videography Services
Below are some examples of previous work I have completed to give you an idea of the production values and story telling I achieve.
For each video example, I will explain the role I played as each client has different needs and a unique understanding of creating videos. I aim to be flexible and am able to work based on the clients preference.
Different clients require a different approach. Some may want to be heavily involved in the direction of the video, from planning, interviewing, and direction in the final edit. While others prefer to hand over the concept to me. I can work either way.
Custom Fleet
The client that hired me for this video was Custom Fleet and the final video was displayed in an article on the NZ Herald website.
They had a round table discussion with industry leaders and wanted to capture the event through a highlights video.
I achieved this by setting up an interview with each participant and capturing b-roll of their meeting.
JLL
I worked with the JLL New Zealand marketing team, to create high quality interviews with 10 senior leaders from their team.
The videos were designed for a landing page, so potential clients could see their expertise in action.
I edited the videos, following the JLL branding and animation guidelines to keep their video style consistent across the JLL international team.
Aptella
I was brought on to shoot and edit this Testimonial video for Aptella.
One of the most enjoyable parts about my work as a videographer is experiencing places and job sites that I would not usually have access to like being on a job site of this scale seeing large machinery up close.
The Warehouse
This video was a fun shoot, that I collaborated on with the marketing department for The Warehouse. It was a scripted video, developed by their team which they then asked me to bring to life.
Using the technique of over the shoulder, I wanted to put the viewer in the perspective of working at The Warehouse, like a day in the life style.
International Association of Language Centres
Members of IALC came from different countries across the world to run a conference at the Viaduct Event Centre.
I jumped onboard as a videographer capturing b-roll over the 2 days of networking, speeches, cultural events and a tour to Waiheke island.
I conducted Vox pop interviews with members and got some really great footage.
Auckland Radiology
In this project, I was brought on board for filming only. It involved lighting each room with bright LED lights and getting b-roll of staff and patients.
Client Feedback
It’s an honour to be trusted to deliver high quality video for my clients. I make sure that each client is happy with their result before finishing each project.
